Grass Installation
Lower water bills
High-desert water is scarce and expensive, so a thirsty natural lawn drives your bill up fast under local conservation rules. Synthetic turf drops outdoor watering close to zero and saves most homes $3,000 or more a year.
HOA approved
California law (Civil Code 4735 and AB 1164) stops an HOA from banning drought-friendly or synthetic lawns. We install to a clean, board-ready finish.
Safe and eco-friendly
Our turf is certified PFAS-free and lead-free, with no pesticides or fertilizer, which matters for kids, pets, and the desert environment.
Built for extreme swings
Heat-reflective yarns, UV-stable fibers, and proper drainage handle triple-digit heat, cold nights, and the strong winds and dust common across Lancaster and Palmdale.

What Antelope Valley-Area Homeowners Say
| Reviewer | Rating | Review |
|---|---|---|
| Sandra Huerta, Google | ★★★★★ | I have had my turf for almost two years and it looks exactly the same today as when they put it in. I could not be happier. Great people to work with and a great product. |
| Mark R., Lancaster (Yelp) | ★★★★★ | Lawn Kings is the company to work with for your turf needs. Steve is awesome. He took care of me and made sure I was happy with the end results. He goes above and beyond for you. |
| William S., Castaic (Yelp) | ★★★★★ | With the rising water costs and not wanting gardeners or to mess with sprinklers, I had to call Lawn Kings. Up front they seem pricey, but subtract maintenance and water costs and it does not take long before you are in the green. |
Desert Water Savings, Extreme Heat and Wind, and Dust-Resistant Turf
Three local factors shape almost every Antelope Valley install.
Water savings and desert rules. Water in the high desert is scarce and costs more every year, so cutting irrigation is the fastest way to lower a yard bill. Synthetic turf removes nearly all lawn watering and keeps you well inside local conservation limits, even in a dry year.
Extreme heat, cold, and wind. Desert days push past 100 degrees, nights turn cold, and the wind kicks up hard. We use heat-reflective, UV-stable yarns that resist fading and a locked base and edging that hold firm through gusts, so the lawn looks the same in July and January.
Dust and drainage. Blowing dust settles into any surface, but a quick rinse clears synthetic turf fast, and a compacted, free-draining base keeps rare desert downpours from pooling. That base work is part of every job.
How Much Does Artificial Grass Cost in the Antelope Valley?
A standard install over 1,000 square feet begins at $6.95 per square foot.
| Natural grass | Lawn Kings turf | |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront install | Lower | From $6.95 per sq ft |
| Water per year | Hundreds to thousands | Near zero |
| Mowing and gardening | Ongoing | None |
| Fertilizer and pesticide | Ongoing | None, PFAS-free |
| Reseeding and repair | Periodic | None |
| Estimated annual savings | None | $3,000 or more |
| Lifespan | Constant upkeep | 15 to 20 years |
What you pay in the end comes down to the turf you pick, the size of the yard, and prep work such as tearing out the old lawn and grading. After a free measurement you get a written price per square foot, and HFS financing options can spread the cost into monthly payments. Since synthetic grass wipes out nearly all outdoor watering, a lot of high-desert yards earn back a big share of the cost through lower water bills within a few years.
For Businesses
Artificial Grass For Commercial Establishments
High desert commercial landscaping fails in a specific way: it looks fine in April and is scorched by July. Triple-digit summers, hard afternoon wind and water that costs more every year make a natural commercial lawn a losing proposition out here. We install turf for retail frontages, office and industrial buildings, aerospace and logistics facilities, schools and childcare yards, medical practices, and HOA and apartment common areas across the valley. Every job gets a compacted, free-draining base rated for its traffic, with edges locked down hard, which matters more here because desert wind will find any loose edge. Turf is certified PFAS-free and lead-free. Lawn Kings is CSLB #944369 and fully insured.
For Homeowners
Residential Turf Installation
We cover the whole high desert, including Lancaster 93534 and 93536, Palmdale 93550 and 93551, Quartz Hill and Leona Valley, plus the unincorporated stretches in between that most contractors will not drive to.
The desert is a different install from anywhere else we work, in three ways. Water is scarce and priced accordingly, so cutting irrigation matters more here than in the basin. Second, the temperature swing is brutal: days above 100 in summer, nights below freezing in winter. That expansion and contraction is what lifts a poorly seamed lawn, so seam work and edge locking are not cosmetic details out here. Third, wind. Afternoon gusts across open ground will peel back any edge that was not properly secured, and they carry dust that settles into the pile, which is why we specify systems that brush clean rather than trap grit. Pricing starts at $6.95 per square foot on installs over 1,000 square feet.
Leona Valley and the foothill fringes sit in Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones. Zone 0 rules from AB 3074 call for a non-combustible strip in the first five feet around the structure, and artificial turf does not qualify there. The statewide rule is still in draft, with compliance expected around February 2027, so we set the layout to start beyond that line now.
Sandra Huerta went on the record about how it holds up on Google: “I have had my turf for almost two years and it looks exactly the same today as when they put it in.”

Desert yards are hard on dogs. Bare dirt turns to dust in the wind and to mud in a winter storm, and natural grass rarely survives both plus a dog. Our pet systems pair a fast-draining base with odor-resistant infill so urine flushes through instead of sitting in the backing, and the surface rinses clean of dust as easily as anything else. It takes digging and hard running without matting. More than 27 animal shelters and doggy daycares around Los Angeles County run the same build.

Full labor and materials warranty, 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, financing through HFS Financial. Custom Putting Greens
Bring The
Game Home
High desert lots tend to be generous, which makes a real putting green practical rather than token. We build on short-pile putting turf over a firm compacted base, with true roll speeds, optional fringe and chipping approaches, and cups set around how you practice. The base is built to handle both a summer of hard sun and a winter freeze without the surface going uneven.
